What is Chiropractic Care?
Chiropractic has looked different throughout the years. But one consistency has been the power of the adjustment and the expertise of chiropractors in neuromusculoskeletal diagnosis. Basically, DC's are experts in nerves, muscles, skeletons and the things that connect them (like tendons and ligaments) and we use different manual therapies to help treat them.
Are Chiropractors Doctors?
Yup! Chiropractors hold a Doctorate of Chiropractic, similar to a dentist or optometrist. 8 years of education, board exams as well as continuing education is required to maintain our practice licences.
How Often Do I Need Treatment?
That truly depends on you and what we are treating. In an active, acute state of injury or pain? We're going to see you more often, chronic pain might also be more often until it's manageable. Those coming in for maintenance or prevention typically come every 4-8 weeks!
Is It Safe?
Short answer, yes. There are ongoing studies showing the safety of chiropractic in different populations. But as with anything, there are risks...I will go over those and answer and questions before any treatment is given and receive your full, informed consent.
What Can I Expect During My Visit?
Finding a space in your home that we can set up the table (about 6 feet long) and be able to sit and chat is ideal! Once I arrive at your home I will set up my table, whip out my laptop and review your forms or previous chart (depending on the appointment) we will then go through some tests, talk about what I find, get consent, and get a treatment done!
What Do I need To Do Before My First Visit?
Intake forms will be sent to you via our online platform, Jane. These need to be completed and a credit card on file prior to me showing up for your appointment. Other then that, find a good space in your home that you're comfortable in and can fit a portable table, wear comfortable clothing and I'll take care of the rest.
Does Insurance Cover Chiropractic Care?
Most extended health benefits do have some chiropractic coverage, but each plan is different. We cannot look into your coverage for you, and direct billing is provided as a courtesy. You are responsible for covering any fees that are not covered by benefits.
What area do you serve?
I provide mobile chiropractic care throughout Calgary, Chestermere, Airdrie and Rocky View County. If you live outside of these areas, but still are interested in mobile chiropractic care for your family, contact Wellness in Motion to inquire, extra travel fees may apply.
